Dear Neighbours,

We're writing to you about Boath House - a place that we know holds special memories for so many of us.

Recent months have been difficult. The previous management company's sudden departure left many of us confused and disappointed, particularly our valued local suppliers. Seeing Boath House become a place that felt exclusive rather than welcoming was disheartening - it's not what this wonderful historic estate should be about, and it is not what we want.

Over generations, Boath House has been woven into the fabric of life here in Scotland. It's more than just a building - it's where countless local stories have unfolded, where friendships have deepened over cups of tea, and where our community has come together through the years. It's where special events, weddings and festivals have taken place. That's the legacy we need to protect.

We want to take Boath House back to what it should be. Instead of bringing in an outside company, we are taking a much more hands on approach and have brought together a management team that includes both experienced hospitality professionals and familiar faces from the community who'll help us guide Boath House's future. We will be part of this new management team because as custodian, it's our job to make sure every decision puts the community and estate first. The team understands what makes this place special, because they've been part of its story too.

At its heart, Boath House has always been about moments shared - morning walks in the incredible gardens, coffee with friends, and celebrations both big and small. Yes, our fine dining restaurant will still be there for special occasions, but Boath House's true spirit has always lived in the simple, everyday moments in the Garden Kitchen Café. We have plans to share in the coming weeks as we prepare for our March reopening. These plans have grown from conversations with local residents, businesses, regional and international partners, and we look forward to welcoming you back for the first of many local farmers markets.

We understand trust takes time to rebuild. While the previous management company's debts are being handled through the liquidators, we’ve personally given up 8 times more than the largest creditor to help and address this situation. As a further step, we'll personally ensure that anyone with gift vouchers from the previous management can use them when we reopen.

Please feel free to pop in any time for a chat with myself or the management team - we'd love to hear your thoughts and memories about Boath House. You can also reach us directly at welcome@boathhouse.co.uk.

Together, we look forward to restoring Boath House to what it should be - not just a beautiful building and estate, but a living part of our community's story. We look forward to hopefully seeing you in March, and to writing the next chapter of Boath House's history together.

Best wishes,

The mistake we made was bringing in a management company from outside the area that had a vision that did not work. We want to take Boath House back to what it should be. Instead of bringing in an outside company, we are taking a much more hands on approach and have brought together a management team that includes both experienced hospitality professionals and familiar faces from the community who'll help us guide Boath House's future.
